Joel McDowell grew up in Iowa and attended Iowa State University after serving a tour in United States Marine Corps.

Joel has a strong technical background and is very experienced in technology. Joel has held many positions over the years at different sized companies and had various consulting opportunities. Joel’s last engagement took a company from zero to 1.2 billion in sales in just three years. Joel also was acting CIO for over 22 companies at one organization.

Joel has been recognized by Microsoft for a number of his accomplishments. As a devoted follower of technology over the years, he has held over 19 certifications at various times in his career. Joel has been a certified partner of Microsoft since 1998 and has held such titles as MCSE+I and MCDBA 2000. In addition, Joel has been trained and certified by the National Security Agency for Information Assessments Methodology. He also has been trained for Webtrust by the AICPA.

Joel has served in many “C” level positions throughout his career and currently serves as a board member of several different companies. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies as well as small startups and truly enjoys seeing how technology can work for all companies.

Joel and his wife Carrie have been married for almost 17 years and are blessed with two children Mickelle, and Brayden.
